SSUA is continuing its efforts to strengthen academic collaboration with secondary schools. As part of these efforts, Prof. Dr Selim Ferruh Adalı, Head of the Department of History at SSUA's Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, visited the Şehit Ahmet Özsoy Girls’ Anatolian Imam Hatip Secondary School, where he met with the Headteacher, Fatih Bostancı, the Deputy Headteacher, Tamer İşi, and the Guidance Counsellor, Sema Çapur Elçi. During the meeting, which took place in a cordial and productive atmosphere, discussions centred on ways to develop university-secondary school collaboration, whilst joint projects and activities designed to contribute to students’ academic development were also discussed.
Views were exchanged on efforts to strengthen high-quality collaboration in education, enhance students’ academic awareness in the social sciences, and bring the university experience to secondary school pupils. The meeting also included discussions regarding the Academic Council planned to be established within the school.
In this context, opportunities for collaboration regarding the contribution of an academic representative from SSUA to the council’s work were discussed, whilst information was also exchanged on the process of sharing decisions regarding the council’s activities with the relevant directorate-general. The commitment to joint efforts aimed at strengthening sustainable academic communication and institutional collaboration between the university and the school was emphasised. The visit concluded with a commemorative photograph taken to mark the occasion, following discussions on potential joint projects, scientific events and the development of academic collaborations in the field of education.
