The Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism returned six cuneiform clay tablets to Iraq in a ceremony attended by Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Gökhan Yazgı and Iraqi Ambassador to Ankara Majid Abdulreda Hassan Al-Lachmawi, as part of efforts to protect cultural assets and combat smuggling. Dating back to the Old Akkadian, Old Babylonian, and Third Ur periods, these clay tablets are significant for the region's cultural heritage, as they discuss religious and economic matters. The analysis, classification, and dating of these clay tablets, which date back to between the 24th and 18th centuries BC, were carried out by Prof. Dr. Selim Ferruh Adalı, a faculty member of our University's History Department.
