Our Sociology Department Professor  Şebnem Köşer Akçapar (Ph.D.) presented a study on the translation services in the health services given to Syrian refugees in The Global Refugee and Migration Congress 

Tuba Duman (Ph.D.) from ASBU Sociology Department and Hatice Keskin (Ph.D. candidate) from ASBU Philosophy Department  attended The Global Refugee and Migration Congress in Gaziantep with a presentation entitled "The Effects of Health Services Given to Syrian Refugees on Healthcare Professionals"  

Opening Ceremony of 2019 2020 Academic Year and Orientation Program was conducted on September 23, 2019.

Erdem Sönmez, Assisstant Professor at the Department of History, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, had an oral presentation titled as "An Early Call for Interdisciplinarity in the Middle East: Köprülüzade Mehmed Fuad's Methodology Writings of the 1910s" at the conference organized by British Society for Middle Eastern Studies (BRISMES) on June 24-26, 2019 at University of Leeds. 

Erdem Sönmez, Assisstant Professor, the Department of History at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, gave a talk on "Türkiye'de Tarihyazımı Çalışmaları: Eleştirel Bir Değerlendirme" at the Department of Sociology, İstanbul University. 

9. National Congress of Sociology was held at Social Sciences University of Ankara between September 19 and 21, 2019.

Research Assistant from Social Sciences University of Ankara F. Kübra Aytaç’s master’s thesis in Sociology titled “The Relationship Between Maternal Gatekeeping and Parental Warmth Through the Mediating Role of Traditional Motherhood” received the ‘Best Thesis of the Year Award’ given by Middle East Technical University. We congratulate her and wish her continued success.
